About Cruise Center Altona
Van-der-Smissen-Strasse, Altona, right by the Dockland
The Cruise Center Altona began operations in 2011 and is located on Van-der-Smissen-Straße in the Altona district, right next to the striking Dockland building with its famous rooftop terrace. The terminal accommodates ships up to approximately 300 meters in length, including ships from AIDA and Costa. Through the large glass front, travelers have a wide view over the Hamburg harbor even during check-in.
Of the three Hamburg terminals, Altona is the closest to the city center and the districts of Ottensen and St. Pauli. This makes for an attractive location, but it also means heavy traffic around Grosse Elbstrasse on travel days.
