The Cruise Center Steinwerder is Hamburg’s largest cruise terminal and was opened in 2015 in the middle of the working port, on the Steinwerder Peninsula south of the Elbe. This is where the very large ships dock, for which there is no space at the other terminals. Cruise lines such as AIDA Cruises and MSC Cruises have their most modern and longest ships start and end in Steinwerder, including the large AIDA ships and the MSC fleet, which are among the largest cruise ships to call at Hamburg.
The terminal has two large check-in halls and is fully designed to handle a particularly high number of passengers in a single day. Because it is surrounded by an active industrial port, the area can be confusing for those unfamiliar with the area, and the route there leads over several harbor bridges.
Getting there & shuttle
Arrival and shuttle to Steinwerder
Because Cruise Center Steinwerder is located in the middle of the industrial port and is not within walking distance of the city center, a reliable arrival and a secure parking space are particularly important here. Parking areas directly at the terminal are limited and expensive. Instead, you can park your car in our covered, video-monitored parking garage, and we will take you and your luggage directly to the terminal building with the free shuttle.
Plan a little extra time on your day of departure, as port traffic can be heavy on busy cruise days. Simply reserve your shuttle spot when booking so that the pick-up time matches your check-in. After your return, we will pick you up again at the agreed meeting point, your car will be ready, and you can drive home directly and relaxed.

What does parking cost with us?
For your cruise, too, you pay a fixed total price for the entire period, including the shuttle to your terminal and back. Longer trips are especially affordable per day.
